Description

Common buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum) – an annual plant, growing up to 60 cm in height, with heart-shaped leaves and white, small flowers. It is native to the eastern and central areas of Asia. In Poland, it is grown especially because of the seeds from which valuable groats are produced. Valuable in terms of herbalism are flowers and leaves of buckwheat. The main active ingredient of the aboveground part of the plant is rutin with a strong antioxidant effect and high bioavailability. Next to it we will also find other flavonoids and organic acids: gallic, caffeic, chlorogenic. In India, buckwheat is a staple bread cereal, and in China and Japan it is commonly used to make noodles. In traditional medicine, buckwheat herb was used for skin care treatments, wounds and irritations. Nowadays, it is known for its beneficial effect on the structure of arteries, veins and capillaries. Routine strengthens their walls and gives them flexibility. However, these are not the only health benefits of this wonderful herb. Buckwheat herb also helps to take care of healthy skin and supports the proper functionality of joints and bones.

Recommended use:

Infusion: 1 tablespoon of the herb pour a glass of boiling water. Cover and brew 20 minutes. Strain. Consume 2-3 times a day after a glass of infusion.
